Overview

Purpose of the job:
The Associate Production Manager provides production management and support services involved in one or multiple departments of digital visual effects production

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
● Supports DPMs, Producers, and Supervisors in outlining scope-of-work, milestones, and inventory expectations for one or more departments.
● Manages department schedule and communication workflow for one or multiple Departments.
● Conducts schedule lookaheads, establishes weekly/monthly targets, and proactively identifies resource needs to achieve quota goals.
● Oversees and trains production coordinators to conduct walkthroughs, track artist tasks, and promote efficient handoff practices between artist departments.
● Ensure that creative direction from supervisors the client is clear to artist teams. Maintains and publishes information regarding client notes and changes in planned work for Supervisors and artists.
● Supports VFX Supervisor and Producers with preparing agendas for client calls, as needed.
● Drives short-term delivery goals, such as marketing requests, trailers, etc., by identifying action items and managing follow-up with relevant parties.
● Maintains global show targets by working with the Supervisors and DPMs on priorities, flagging deadline and productivity concerns, and identifying solutions to roadblocks.
● Creates and maintains task assignments for the teams; anticipates potential staffing changes based on development or creative shifts through the show
● Accountable for enabling assigned aspects of the production to be completed within established schedules.
● Prepares reports to demonstrate weekly department progress.
● Responsible for maintaining render priorities. Communicates daily with the show & lead DPA regarding changes to render priorities, etc.
● As needed, acts as point person for Outsource Vendors. Liaises with production, financial and legal departments and third party production houses.

Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience Required:
● College degree in film, art, communications or a related field and/or a combination of education and experience that would be equivalent to that level of professionalism, problem solving and analytical skills.
● 3+ years work production experience in visual effects or feature animation required.

Skills, Abilities, Special Licenses or Certificate:
● Demonstrable experience in highly technical, dynamic departments is a must
● Experience with heavy schedule management in a very time sensitive atmosphere
● Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required; experience with Shotgun or similar production tracking software and asset management software a plus
● Highly developed communication skills to facilitate interdepartmental needs and schedules required
● Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a high pressure environment
