Overview

We are currently seeking a candidate with an editorial background to join our I/O team for our Vancouver studio, Part-Time. The I/O Department is responsible for the organization of project drives and data ingestion and output as well as the conversion of all media, quality control of all material entering and leaving the studio. This position will include downloading/uploading from various transfer hosting sites and FTPs as well as physical hard drives.

This is a part-time position with variable shifts. Applicants must have a flexible work schedule that includes evening and weekend availabity. This role is from ASAP to the end of March.The I/O Assistant report to the I/O Lead.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize drives shipments and returns
  • Make sure that footage is transferred to servers
  • Oversee the organization of project drives & data ingestion
  • Prep and process on-set proprietary data & lens information
  • Plate Preparation with editorial software
  • Prep and organize EDLs including creation of shot folders
  • Publish plates, de-grains and proxies
  • Organize data in conjunction with shot management tool; Shotgun
  • Relay notes for shots including, time warps, push-ins or assets as required.
  • Receive client plates (turnover) via FTP or hard drives and organize accordingly
  • Generate preview QuickTimes for internal and client review
  • Quality control of all material entering and leaving the studio
  • Preparing sequence edits for client approval when required
  • File conversion and transcoding
  • Edit show reels as required

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of multiple Editing/Motion Graphics software’s including Avid, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects
  • Experience working with various formats, video codecs, frame rates, compression, resolution, and colour-space.
  • Thorough understanding  & experience with post-production process
  • Solid nderstanding of VFX pipeline
  • Knowledge of Hiero software an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible Schedule
  • Ability to juggle long orlate night hours and tight deadlines
  • Work well in a fast paced team environment
  • Ability to work independently when required
