Overview

Zoic Studios is looking for a Recruiter to fill an integral role in our small, but dynamic Vancouver team.  The Recruiter works alongside the Recruitment Manager as well as collaborates on a daily basis with the Administrative and HR teams.  Your recruiting philosophy is based on your belief that value and ethics are not just for home but work as well.

You have a solid understanding of the VFX and/or Animation pipeline or are willing to learn.  The Recruiter is the face of Zoic when it comes to career fairs, expos and social media with potential employees, artists and candidates.  They are ambassadors of our culture and employment brand.

The Recruiter will use their knowledge of the VFX industry to identify, engage and secure top talent using traditional and creative sourcing strategies for vacant positions. They will be keen on building and maintaining relationships with prospective talent to expand their network with the ultimate goal of meeting current and future hiring needs. The Recruiter is responsible for ensuring a smooth and positive candidate experience.

The perfect candidate is outgoing and approachable, thrives in a fast paced and evolving environment and enjoys collaboration. They will have a passion for making connections and finding the right person for the job.  They will also understand the need to pay attention to details and have experience with contractual language and negotiating.

This position reports to the Recruitment Manager.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Carry out full- cycle recruitment across multiple VFX departments to attract top talent
  • Maintain applicant tracking system with accuracy
  • Assist in the creation of job descriptions together with the Recruitment Manager, HR and appropriate internal supervisors
  • Work with Recruitment Manager to create job posts and job ads
  • Advertise job openings ensuring compliance with Service Canada requirements
  • Work with supervisors to review demo reels in order to assess artist capabilities and identify ideal candidates
  • Coordinate and conduct interviews with team leads and supervisors
  • Conduct reference checks of applicants
  • Negotiate and prepare offer details for candidates
  • Communicate accepted offers and details to Heads of Production, HR, and administrative team
  • Attend career events and job fairs as required
  • Continually build relationships with artists in the industry to increase your professional network
  • Participate in bi-weekly Resource meetings and scheduling meetings

Experience:

  • 3 years of experience within HR or Recruitment in Post Production, Gaming and/ or VFX
  • Experience in sourcing and placing VFX / CG / Tech artists in all disciplines
  • Prior experience in developing and leading interviews

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, MS Teams etc.)
  • Strong administrative skills including taking notes during interviews
  • Experience with BambooHR and JazzHR a plus
  • Excellent command of the English language both written and verbal
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Experience in dealing with confidential documents
  • Ability to multitask in an environment where there are changing priorities
  • Working remotely is an option until there is a full return to studio
