VFX Outsource Manager
This position is based in Vancouver. All applicants must reside in British Columbia or Ontario if applying within Canada.
We are currently seeking a VFX Outsource Manager for our company. The Outsource Manager will work closely with the Head of Operations, Heads of Production, specialized departments and show Producers and Coordinators to ensure that all tasks required to be outsourced are dealt with efficiently and within production deadlines. You will be the main link between the internal shows and off-site vendors. This role is new, and the right candidate will be helping to develop an overall structure relating to the outsource process.
This position reports to the Head of Operations.
This is a full-time position.
Duties
- Manage all outsource needs including packaging and budgets.
- Manage all scheduling as it relates to milestones and assigned delivery dates.
- Collaborate with Supervisors, Producers, and Coordinators to break down workload requiring outsourcing.
- Accurately prepare reports in Excel/Word in order to update production on milestones and deliveries.
- Manage and communicate file specification requirements between vendor and studio.
- Communicate and act as liaison between international outsource vendors and studio.
- Request, negotiate, and gather quotes from multiple vendors.
- Review invoicing before forwarding to internal Accounting department.
- Oversee, support, and manage daily requests from various departments for all projects.
- Provide updates to production teams.
- Other tasks consistent with the position as assigned.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Min 3-years’ experience in managing a VFX related department.
- Proficient in Shotgun.
- Experience with FTP client file management.
- Experience in a fast-paced administrative role.
- Must be highly organized.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be comfortable communicating by telephone.
- Must be able to follow direction as well as work and problem solve independently.
- Knowledge of visual effects.
- Detail oriented.
- Take initiative and thrive in a very fast paced environment.
