Lead USD Pipeline TD

This position is based in Vancouver. All applicants must reside in the United States or British Columbia/Ontario if applying within Canada.

We are currently seeking a Lead USD Pipeline TD. You will be responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of new CG Pipelines utilizing USD. This role is for an immediate, full time position. The USD Pipeline TD reports to the Pipeline Managers.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Pipeline team and our CG Technical Supervisors across the globe to lead the design, development, and maintenance of new cutting-edge CG Pipelines utilizing USD for Visual Effects
  • Lead a series of projects from planning and preparation to completion and maintenance
  • Work with a small team of developers to achieve your Pipeline vision · Participate in the coding process on all projects in Python, C++, and other languages
  • Attend meetings as necessary
  • Provide documentation, training resources, and support

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Visualization, or VFX required
  • Minimum 2 years VFX experience within, film/TV or gaming
  • Experience Leading software development projects with multiple developers
  • Experience designing new workflows and pipeline processes
  • Must be a capable developer in:
    • Python
    • C++
  • Ability to excel working with Open Source software
  • Procedural and object-oriented programming expertise
  • Production level understanding of modular, large-scale digital asset management and version control
  • Working knowledge and development experience within the following industry tools:
    • USD
    • Nvidia Omniverse
    • Houdini
    • Maya
    • Unreal Engine
