About the Position

Reporting to the Lead Rigger and working closely with the Production Coordinator, the Build Artist / Rigger is responsible for rigging all approved assets from the build stage.

Core Responsibilities

  • Based on asset list provided on a per episode basis, create rigs for characters, props and other assets
  • Rig and revise the requested style of character rigs as per instructions of the Lead Rigger
  • Complete duties within scheduled time frames  and must be able to work within tight deadlines
  • Responsible for all naming conventions within their files and palettes within the files they create
  • Follow file management specifications and work collaboratively with other departments
  • Identify, report, and communicate creative and technical knowledge and solutions with other team members

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of Toon Boom Harmony
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Google Suite products (Gmail, Google Drive)
  • Prior experience using Shotgun or other animation production tracking software strongly preferred
  • Strong aptitude to learn
  • Open to receiving feedback and taking direction from leadership
  • Ability to multi-task and exhibits a collaborative, supportive approach to working with other team members
  • Demonstrates good written and verbal communication
  • Must be currently a Canadian citizen or a Permanent Resident, or have a valid Work Permit, with the ability to work in-house at our Kelowna, BC, studio.
