Overview
WildBrain is looking for an Technical Animator to join our team!
In this role, you will be directly responsible for conducting quality control of all assets to ensure they are ready for production. You will work with the CG Supervisor, Rigging and Animation departments to ensure the geometry and rigs meet the needs of the show.
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct model and rig testing to ensure rigs are production ready
- Conduct range of motion tests for all new character builds
- Create show-specific cycles/poses
- Create and rig Proxy models as needed, Proxy FX for timing, and Proxy lighting for lighting reference
- Assist in the development of any specialized assets as needed
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of crowd solutions
- Test and provide feedback on proprietary animation tools
- Troubleshoot animation and rigging issues and provide solutions for finalizing the animated look of a character or prop into a scene
- Foster and enable communication and collaboration across departments
- Complete assigned animation within scheduled timeframe
- Identify potential risks or issues and work on a mitigation strategy
- Create setup files for assigned team, ensuring scene continuity is maintained
What You’ll Bring:
- Understanding of key-framed animation development processes, limitations, and dependencies
- Good understanding of animation principles
- Ability to effectively communicate in a professional and positive manner
- Proactive work ethic, capable problem solver with the ability to implement solutions
- Degree/diploma in animation or equivalent
