Overview
Western FX Studios is looking for a Texture/ Look Dev Artist for our live-action Netflix Original television series.
The artist will assist in the lighting/rendering pipeline by applying textures, and managing renders to ensure all render passes are delivered to the compositors.
This show will involve full CG characters, 3D FX work, and CG face replacement.
Requirements:
– Experience in Maya and Photoshop required, with experience in Renderman, Xgen, and Nuke preferred.
– Clear understanding of colour space, image-based lighting, shading, and advanced rendering methodologies.
– Collaborates with Effects Artists to test efficacy of the special effects, modifying lighting as necessary.
– A technical understanding of visual effects pipelines are a plus as well, as is Shotgun experience.
– Diverse capabilities of the principles of 3D such as; animation, modelling, rigging, texturing, shading, lighting, rendering, effects and compositing are a plus.
– Strong creative and technical abilities.
– Must be able to work in a fast paced yet laid back, high-volume work environment.
– Texture painting and shader development (look dev) experience.
