Waterproof Studios is looking for an experienced Rigging TD to join our team.

The ideal candidate would be technically and artistically minded, with experience in motion & facial capture rigs as well as key-frame rigs and processes.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years experience as a rigger or TD in a production environment in Maya
• The ability to work well with and liaise with other artists, TDs and production
• Positive attitude & self motivated with excellent communication skills both written and oral
• The proactive ability to problem solve issues quickly and offer solutions in a timely manner
• Understanding of anatomy, bi-ped, quadri-ped & other
• Thorough understanding of character, vehicle, prop and environment rigging duties
• Experience with cloth simulations and solutions and asset
• Detail oriented with the ability to track and document rigging solutions
• Experience with Motion Builder is an asset
• Experience with Unreal engine is an asset
• Knowledge of scripting, Mel or Python

Responsibilities:

• Develop, create and maintain rigs and skins in Maya & occasionally Motion Builder and ensuring their
• stability throughout production
• Contribute to the rigging pipeline, tools and processes in Maya and Python
• Supply estimates and work under a deadline to deliver rigs and solutions on time
• Provide technical and creative solutions to other artists and TDs
• Work with production, tech and art teams day to day to improve and implement tools to increase productivity
• Organize and attend all meetings relevant to the role, including with clients
• Work with Production to provide estimates, priorities and solutions to keep the project on track
• Help mentor all staff- technical and artistic to improve and learn in their craft
• Provide documentation and understanding of the pipeline and tools
