The role…

The function of a Unreal Engine Environment Artist at Versatile Media is to bring their experience and expertise, both technical and artistic, in order to deliver high end results to our clients and internal projects.

 

You will spend your time…

Building high quality digital environments for feature, television and animation projects;
Working with Supervisory teams regarding scope of work required to build 3D environments;
Researching references that may be required for building of assets;
Working with teams to address issues and challenges as it pertains to digital assets;
Collaborating with the other departments including, pre-viz and virtual production;
Managing environment creation in software such as Maya, Blender or Houdini and incorporate assets into UE4 for use in real time playback;
Ensuring production deadlines are met while meeting quality level and production requirements;
Revising environment assets as directed by production in a timely manner;
Constructing and building creative builds/solutions for recurring production requirements;
Mentoring and sharing knowledge with other team members.
Qualifications and Requirements…

Minimum 3 years of experience in video games development;
Should be mid to senior level with experience of working on AAA games;
Degree or relevant experience in VFX, Gaming, Computer Graphics;
Proficient in the entire environment creation workflow including modeling, texturing and shading within Unreal Engine;
Should have experience in different settings – sci fi environment / realistic landscapes etc;
Proficient in Maya, ZBrush and Photoshop;
Experience in taking 2D concepts and ideas and creating them as photorealistic 3D environments;
Proficient on production processes and artist workflows within video games industry;
Familiarity with  Unreal Engine workflows is necessary;
Able to work independently when required;
Excellent time management skills;
Ability to work in a high paced environment;
An interest in mentoring team members and sharing knowledge;
Strong solution based trouble-shooting skills;
Excellent English communication skills both verbal and written;
Ability to communicate in Mandarin a plus but not required;
Up-to-date reel and resume showcasing required skills.

**Must be based in or around, or willing to relocate to Vancouver, Canada.
