The Embassy is a Canadian, Oscar nominated production house. Specializing in live-action production, post-production, and animation for feature films & commercials.

We are currently looking for a Jr. IT Technician to join our team in a full-time contract capacity.

Duties

• Running and checking backups
• Monitoring the status of servers, storage and the network infrastructure
• Setting up workstations, including operating system installation and workstation rebuilds
• Investigating hardware problems. For example: failing workstations or driver problems

Requirements

• Knowledge of Windows, Linux and Mac OS X system administration
• Familiarity with the command line and shell/batch scripts for all three operating systems.
  Able to lift up to 50lbs
• Helpful demeanor, good communication and a team player (this is a support role)
• Able to work overtime/weekends occasionally, sometimes on short notice in emergencies
• A desire to work your way up in Systems Administration
• Must be legally able to work in BC (i.e. Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident).

Bonus Points: Experience building workstations and/or servers
Bonus Points: Knowledge of computer hardware (CPUs, memory, PSUs, GPUs, motherboards etc.)
Bonus Points: Knowledge of Python
Bonus Points: Computer Science (or similar) education
Bonus Points: Previous VFX experience
