Overview
2D FX Artist
We are looking for a talented 2D FX Artist who creates and animates new effects on this Prestige Streaming Series.
The FX artist will be responsible for creating and conceptualizing hand-drawn 2D sequences which meet the aesthetic, creative and technical quality standards of this production. The ideal candidate is an excellent problem solver with a solid understanding of the animation production pipeline and is able to produce top quality effects.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Work closely with the FX and CG Supervisors and other members to identify and solve technical issues.
Demonstrate an understanding of a broad range of hand drawn 2D FX abilities.
Create natural and supernatural effects like water, smoke, dust, bubbles, fire, storms, shadows, blurs, explosions etc. which contribute to the scene.
Collaborate with the Pipeline group to improve FX processes and workflow.
Participate in the review and quality control process and apply changes as requested by the Supervisors and Production team.
Work to integrate effects into the shot workflow, in an efficient way.
Provide suggestions and recommendations on techniques and elements used in the show.
Maintain and communicate a strong knowledge of innovative 2D FX animation technologies
Participate in the development of department procedures: workflows, toolsets, best practices
Your Experience, Talents and Abilities:
2+ years of industry experience with 2D effects in features, television, games or equivalent.
Experience with Harmony or Flash
We are looking for someone with a keen artistic eye. Someone who has a solid understanding of the animation production pipeline and the ability to produce the highest possible quality effects.
Experience with Stylized or non-realistic Effects is a plus
Able to troubleshoot, solve problems and find workarounds as appropriate
Strong composition and artistic timing
Experience with Shotgun Software is a plus
