Overview
Job Summary:
We are currently looking for a highly experienced Lead VFX Artist to join our team. The Leadwill provide technical and creative leadership to a group of compositing artistsand contribute to the overall operation and improvement of the department.You must have a proven track record of success and be able to produce at the highest quality possiblefor our clients. We are looking for team player, effective communicator and someone who looks forward to daily challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Work closely with the VFX Supervisor to assess project requirements and assign shots based on artist skills/abilities.
· Manage artists, their tasks and determine best methodology to complete a shot/sequence.
· Communicate schedules and deadlines to the team
· Estimate the time required for tasks and provide accurate shot updates
· Solve creative and technical problems as they arise
· Setup and oversee dailies review sessions and team meetings as required
· Define and maintain best practises for the department
· Assist with breakdowns and bids as needed
Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required:
· 5-7 years experience as a VFX Compositing Artist in live action episodic television, MOW and/or feature films
· Extensive technical knowledge of VFX production and pipelines
· Expert understanding of Nuke
· Experience with Shotgun
· Excellent understanding of composition, light and color with strong attention to detail
· Experience recruiting, training, mentoring and managing Comp Artists is an asset
· VFX/Python scripting an asset
· Ability to multitask, prioritize and problem solve in a fast paced environment
· A team player with excellent communication skills.
· Must be eligible to work in Canada and a resident of BC.
