Overview

Nitrogen Studios Vancouver is looking for a CG Generalist/Character FX Artist to join us on a new CGI animated feature film, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s “Sausage Party”. The CG Generalist/CFX artist is proficient in all areas of Animation production, and possesses an above average eye for detail. The ideal candidate is well versed in the Animation Front-End Pipeline leading up to Lighting with strong experience or desire in Character FX and Finaling.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Conduct Hair grooms and Cloth simulations using Yeti and Maya nCloth
• Compare accuracy of cached geometry with approved animation
• Check for and fix penetration and intersection problems
• Check for and fix continuity issues
• Confirm that all shot assets are cached and shaded for lighting
• Identify, and correct, any problems with cached geo
• Promptly act on shot fixes as they come up
• Maintain and check Shot inventory via manifest before Animation and Lighting

Skills and Requirements:  

• Minimum 3-5+ years of experience producing high resolution CGI content and effects
• Expert in Maya
• Experience with Rigging
• Experience compositing in Nuke
• Experience with hair, fur, and dynamics is a plus
• Experience with Yeti, Houdini, Shotgun and/or ncloth a plus
• Must be a collaborative team player and problem solver
• Must provide accurate time estimates
• Must be meticulous and organized with asset management
• Excellent technical and artistic communication skills required
• Self-motivated and ability to work independently or collaboratively
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
• BC residents preferred, but not required
