Overview

The Animator is responsible for the design and execution of animation as assigned to meet the needs of the project. The position requires a high degree of artistic judgement and depending on the work a strong knowledge of anatomy, body mechanics and character acting. It also requires the ability to troubleshoot and communicate technical issues that may occur.

Duties:

•           Work with the Animation Supervisor, Animation Lead and other animators, as well as Production staff to deliver animation at a high level and within project schedules

•           Animate in various styles (creatures, realistic humans, motion capture, vehicles, etc.) as required by projects

•           Work may also include previs, animation tests, and layout.

•           Other miscellaneous duties as required from time-to-time by the Animation Supervisor or Animation Lead as needed

 

Qualifications:

•           Knowledge and work experience in Maya required

•           Minimum 3 years of experience in television or film

•           Experience in live action animation (television or film) preferred but not necessary

•           Demonstrate a full understanding of animation principles

•           Ability to convey emotion and tell a story through timing, movement and acting

•           Working knowledge of motion capture is an asset
