Overview

Position Summary:
The Art Assistant provides administrative and production support to the Vancouver Art Department.

Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Art Support
●     Assists in all phases of production, from bidding to archiving

●       Gathers reference materials including photos, videos, movie clips from library/video sources

●       Creates presentation packages for meetings, including scanning, printing, and mounting of concept and storyboard artwork

●       Assists with clean-up of concept and storyboard artwork

●       Special projects, as assigned

Departmental Support
●       Provides administrative and general support to the Art department personnel and clients

●       Maintains inventory and orders, and stocks all department supplies

●       Responsible for general department maintenance

●       Schedules meetings and ensures room set up

●       Runs errands around the facility and in the Vancouver area

●       Maintains department databases

●       Other departmental duties as assigned

Reporting Relationships:
Reports to the Talent Manager, Art Department and receives daily oversight and direction from the members of the Art Department.

Job Requirements:
Education/Experience
●       Bachelor’s degree in Art, Graphic Design, or Animation, or equivalent

●       Working knowledge of artwork presentation preparation

●       Background in graphic art, design or film highly preferred

Required Skills/Competencies
●       Strong traditional drawing skills required; knowledge of concept and storyboard art a plus

●       Thorough knowledge of Macintosh computer systems including Photoshop and Illustrator, Final Cut Pro, iDVD, and MS Office; knowledge of Linux, Modo, and Zbrush a plus

●       Must work well in high-pressure, dynamic environments

●       Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills

●       Ability to prioritize multiple demands

●       Understanding film and the industry

●       Portfolio submission is required

Physical Requirements:
●       Must be able to lift 25lbs
