SENIOR BG PREP – Image Engine, Vancouver, BC
Contract: Immediate start (Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada)

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Prepare 2D elements for the compositing team through both rotoscoping and digital painting
Creation of mattes by utilizing the creation and animation of sophisticated shapes
Provide mattes with accurate motion blur and hard edges, thorough rotoscoping
Removal of wires, rigs and markers using 2D/3D painting techniques
Removal of proxy actors through complex projections within a 2.5D environment
Character recreation utilizing both 2D and 3D techniques
Work primarily with Lead/Compositor to ascertain shot roto and paint requirements
Work with production and supervisor team to understand and manage schedules and shot deadlines
Accurately address comments and notes from leads/supervisors, and ensure that revisions are completed in a timely manner
Attend dailies, reviews, and team meetings as required

THIS IS WHAT WE REQUIRE:

4 – 5+ years of professional production experience in high-end feature film
Production level experience using Nuke (2 years minimum is preferred)
Ability to analyze a given task, following instructions accurately and completely
Ability to take on and complete delegated tasks efficiently, with minimal supervision
Must have a strong eye for detail
Must have excellent time management skills
Must have excellent communication skills
Must have solid understanding of Nuke’s 3D environment
Ability to import tracks from matchmove programs is a plus
Understanding of a 3D package such as Maya, is a plus
Knowledge of frame by frame paint is highly suggested
Knowledge of Silhouette for roto or paint is a plus
Knowledge of Mocha for roto or planar tracking is a plus
