POSITION PURPOSE
The Mid BG Prep Artists is responsible for delivering high quality shots in a quick and efficient manner. They will apply notes provided by the BG Prep Supervisors/Leads. They will manage their time effectively to ensure tasks are completed within the assigned timeframe and to the specifications requested by Image Engine clients. They will be complete both rotoscoping and/or paint work as assigned based on studio needs. They will identify and troubleshoot problems as needed and will ask for assistance when necessary to ensure effective use of time and resources.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Apply client notes to all plates
Identify solutions and approaches to resolve challenges with shots
Process requests from pipeline departments
Manage time and resources to meet weekly targets
Rotoscoping
Marker removal
Plate preparation
Plate degraining
Motion capture actors removal
Crew/cameras/set removal
Set extensions
Rig and wire removal
Communicate with team Supervisors/Leads
Manage tasks within assigned timeframe

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
2-4 years of feature film/TV production experience
Proficient in Nuke
Experience with Photoshop
Working knowledge of Silhouette or Mocha is preferred
Knowledge of a 3D package such as Maya and 3DS Max is an asset

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Technical skills
Experience in Rotoscoping for film
Knowledge of tracking (camera tracking, planar tracking, 2D tracking)
Experience with keying
Ability to complete frame by frame paint
Experience with colour management
Experience with Linux based OS
Utilizing 3D projection workflow in Nuke
Understanding of grain management
Excellent eye for detail for quality control

Core skills
Ability to provide Leads with estimate of time of task completion to support Supervisor in the bidding process
Ability to troubleshoot and deal with competing priorities
