Overview

POSITION PURPOSE

The 2D Workflow TD provides support and guidance to our 2D departments. The role primarily entails supporting our Nuke workflows but can extend into Gaffer, Mari, Photoshop, Substance Painter and more. You will be focused on the continued integration of Nuke within our pipeline, automation via tools and templates built upon Gaffer, an open-source, node-based VFX application, and the facilitation of a fluid data exchange across departments. As such the 2D Workflow TD is an integral member of the core Workflow team.

It is a position that allows an individual to touch on and be exposed to the whole gamut of our VFX pipeline. As part of a cohesive team of developers and workflow TDs, the 2D Workflow TD uses their curiosity and investigative skills every day. They listen to our artists, department supervisors, and CG supervisors to identify their challenges and provide support and guidance, as well as tool implementations and workflow designs that integrate smoothly within the overall Image Engine production pipeline.

The 2D Workflow TD contributes to the overall operations and improvements of the facility pipeline. This includes engaging in cross-department communication, flagging inefficiencies, determining the production requirements for future development, providing solutions to critical production issues, as well as leading the adoption and advocacy of new processes and technologies through training and documentation.
