Position: Game Designer
Report to: SVP (Project Lead)
Department: Game

Contract length: Permanent with 3-month probation

Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the product design of simulation strategy games, including but not limited to gameplay design and system function design (designs must be unique, and well-received by the players).
2. Able to come up with new mobile game ideas quickly and delineate details for effective execution. Produce new game demos and carry out rigorous testing to meet players’ expectations.
3. Analyze existing genre-specific and broader market best practices to make recommendations for game teams & incubation pitches.
4. Contribute new design ideas on ways to engage players and collaborate with the team on feature roadmaps.
5. Take shared responsibility for the game’s overall design vision and ensure that the whole development team shares this collective vision.
6. Assist Project Lead in the formation and management of the team.
7. Other tasks assigned by the team.

 

Requirements:
1. Passion for simulation-strategy mobile games.
2. 3+ years of experience designing a monetized product, distribution mechanism, or system from scratch in the video game industry.
3. Skillful in using different game design software. Eager to learn new ideas, techniques, and trends to help with game development.
4. Strong communication skills and understands how to present ideas with clarity and impact.
5. Good understanding of gaming balance and playability requirements (creative and welcomes challenges).
6. A proven track record of designing meta-game systems and economies within the constraints of SLG game systems.
7. Preferable:  Experience in AAA mobile game development and/or simulation strategy mobile game design.
8. Preferable:  Experience launching at least one mobile game.
