Position: Environment Concept Artist (Mobile Game)

Job Responsibilities:
We are seeking a skilled Concept Artist to contribute to our dynamic team. Your role will involve translating design requirements into tangible concept art, supporting the artistic vision, and collaborating closely with teams. Work alongside with other departments to create and apply photo real and/or stylized textures.

Design organic and hard surface textures in order to achieve the desired look of characters, props, and environments.
Create high quality render 2D assets for the 3D department projection purpose.
Create concept art that aligns with the art direction, including environment concepts, texture, mood paintings, animation and prop designs.
Rapidly sketch and produce digital illustrations to visualize preliminary project intentions.
Enhance existing illustrations with screenshot paint overs and retakes to advance project direction.
Communicate visual ideas effectively within teams.
Iterate on concepts while ensuring alignment with the artistic vision.
Apply color palettes specified by the art director to concepts.
Develop detailed sketches from selected concepts.
Perform all other related tasks.

 

Requirements:

Proficiency in Photoshop, Painter, or equivalent tools for digital concept creation.
Ability to iterate rapidly on concepts with input from the Team Lead.
Openness to both receive and provide constructive criticism.
Solid grasp of mood, lighting, form, shape, and composition’s role in conveying artistic intent.
Exceptional eye for environmental design’s elements: light, value, color, staging, and detail.
Capability to translate ideas from concept to real-time game content.
Strong traditional art foundation, encompassing figure drawing, landscape painting, and illustration.
Self-motivated, effective communicator, and enthusiastic team player.
Willingness to share knowledge and elevate team members, enhancing collective capabilities.
Familiarity with AI tools like Mid Journey and stable diffusions are valuable assets.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
