ABOUT THIS POSITION

Animators are the backbone of this department. They are expected to consistently produce at the quality and output level determined by their production.

Job duties:

  • General duties that most artists in this occupation, in our studio are doing:

Get client feedback on the graphic elements they are showcasing as a final composited image, as well as at each stage prior to the final render
Determine the suited means to produce the desired visual effect and the appropriate method of communication
Determine which graphic elements are used to produce the final image
Use image processing, multimedia software, layout and drawing software to produce our final image
Help guide the company on the timeline required to complete the tasks
Use photograph and illustrated references to produce our final images
Establish guidelines for the company’s final images
Coordinate audio visuals
Work in a multidisciplinary environment
Use computer-assisted drawing, modelling, animation, and compositing software to produce final imagery. The imagery is used for printed marketing on each production.
Provide 3D animated computer illustrations
The company’s shows are based on adapting existing graphic illustrations into 3D animated content.

  • Below are specific duties of an Intermediate Animator working in our studio

Intermediate Animators are the veterans on each line.
They are expected to animate more complex or technically challenging shots to a high level of polish, all while consistently maintaining their quota.
Responsible for creating animated sequences of characters, objects, and cameras, collaborate with the animation team to achieve the Art Director & Show Director’s vision
Convert 2D concept artwork & storyboards into 3D Animation
Implement all direction into solutions
Communicate effectively with all artists & production
Ensure the animation meets necessary performance and expectations
Speedy execution of animation utilizing various abilities in skill set
Ability to create material with ease while keeping content creation in mind
Proficient with keyframe animation and have strong fundamentals such as posing, timing, and pacing
Rough out animation blocking for review, then revise and polish to completion
Strong understanding of the principles of animation
Take feedback from director and lead animator and apply to shots accordingly
Work within a schedule and create a certain quota of animation, while maintaining quality
Take direction with ease and still be creative within the parameters of the show’s style

  • The ideal candidate will have:

At least 1 year of experience in Film, TV, videogame production or media equivalent
At least 1 year of Maya experience required
Completion of a Certificate/Diploma in Animation is an asset
Ability to work well in a team and excellent communication skills
Term of employment: Full time

Language: English

Wage: $50,000 – $75,000 annually
