Overview

Founded in 2019, Frame Lab is a collective of artists pushing the bounds of creativity and technology. We utilize a hybrid approach to blend the speed of real-time rendering and the accuracy of more traditional 3D GPU renders. This allows us to spend less time waiting for renders and more time refining the creative process with our clients. We’re currently seeking an experienced FX Artist with the option to work in-house or remotely to start early January 2021.

 

Job Responsibilities:

– Create realistic simulations, including but not limited to destruction, smoke, fire, and water
– Experience with particle transformations and meshing
– Works under the guidance of multiple supervisors to achieve the desired level of aesthetic quality and technical accuracy, often exploring different approaches and looks
– Revises simulations based on client and supervisor feedback in a timely manner
– Collaborate with the rest of the CG team to design and implement dynamics
– Contribute a creative eye to shots while always referencing reality

Job Requirements:

– Minimum 4-6 years of experience working in studios on high end visual effects projects
– A thorough understanding of Houdini
– An excellent grasp on physics in the natural world
– Experience with Redshift is a plus
– Able to multitask and switch gears as deadlines and priorities shift
– A genuine interest in pushing your creative and professional boundaries
– An ability to be self-directed and to thrive on tight deadlines
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills

– Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident to be considered, BC residents are preferred
