Overview

The Roto-Paint Lead provides direction and guidance with Rotoscoping and Paint workflows and approaches for in-house tasks, and interfaces with vendors to QC and direct their work. In addition, they partner with the in-house compositing team to seamlessly integrate all elements of a shot to the highest level of VFX realism for episodic TV and feature films.

Objective:

  • QC internal shots and external vendor work to a high level
  • Generate accurate and articulated roto in Silhouette and Nuke.
  • Work hand in hand with Comp for basic to advanced paint tasks.
  • Provide estimates and deliver quality work within established deadlines.
  • Attend production meetings, complete corrections/revisions based on feedback and partner with compositors to complete shots.
  • Ability to provide estimates for workflow and schedules; delivers high quality work under tight deadlines
  • Share knowledge, train and mentor staff with a broad range of experience.

Education & Experience:

  • College level diploma or higher in computer graphics, fine arts, design, or photography, or related field; OR at least five years of relevant professional VFX experience in lieu of education.
  • Highly experienced with Nuke, Silhouette, and other modern roto/paint techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of compositing workflows and other aspects of post-production.
  • Strong knowledge and ability in perspective, photography, and physics of light and motion.
  • Intermediate Compositing Experience required
