Lead Nuke Compositor

Digital Film Tree Vancouver is looking for Live action Lead compositor to join our team. This
position also has the potential to grow into a compositing supervisor role. This is a work from home
position to start. Possible in house or Hybrid options available in the near future

Ninja like skills you possess include expert knowledge of Nuke and Live action compositing
technique’s, Ability to lead the creative direction of a project within the compositing team,
mentoring and problem solving scripts within your team and Leading by example. We are a very
small team, so we lean on one another, so being a fast learner, team player and overall awesome
person are super important to this role. You thrive on a challenge and are proud of your

work seriously creating cool shots and strong partnerships. Some of the latest projects we have been
involved in include Ted Lasso, The Umbrella Academy, and Manifest.

Responsibilities:

 Working in Tandem with the VFX supervisor, Producer, and 3D lead to ensure quality,
efficiency, and priorities

 Taking on the role of setting up new projects withing the compositing department and
distributing work

 Reviewing shots in a sequence to ensure technical and creative continuity prior to review
with VFX Supervisor

 Attending dailies and translating creative and technical notes into specific direction for
compositing artist

 Responsible for the technical aspects of all shows on their assigned show – Performing
Quality Control checks prior to final send to Clients.

 Finds creative solutions to ways and to different production problems in ensuring
compliance with internal deadlines and budgets

 Providing support and mentorship to all levels of the compositing team (Junior – Senior
Artists)

 Demonstrates open-minded, good adaptability to change and has a long-term vision to
prevent and cope with

Required Experience (Must Have):

 5+ years of Live action compositing experience with at least 1+ year in a lead role

 Thorough experience in working with multi-pass rendering, setting up projections, and
Bluescreen/Greenscreen keying of the highest quality

 A keen eye for technical detail.

 Ability to implement fast, effective solutions to shot-production challenges

 Ability to manage multiple jobs and responsibilities concurrently

 Calm and effective communication and leadership skills at all times

 Experience with Python considered an Asset

 Experience with Deep workflow considered an Asset

 Must be eligible to Work in Canada and BC residents only for now

Position Type/Expected hours:

• This is a full-time position and averages 40 hours per week
• This position works standard business hours but may occasionally require long hours or
weekend work.
