Overview

We are looking for a highly experienced and creative VFX Supervisor to join our growing team.

The VFX Supervisor flags any issues which impact workflow or shot delivery. You will improve the visual fidelity of our shots and help bring our creative work to the next level. You promote interdepartmental communication to move information and expedite completion. You communicate status reports to Producers and other leads.

You must have a proven track record of success and be able to produce at the highest quality. We are looking for team player, effective communicator and someone who thrives on daily challenges. This is not an on-set position; it is a full-time studio role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creatively manage VFX shots from concept to completion
  • Prepare the visual effects bidding and script breakdowns
  • Participate in pre-production meetings
  • Supervise the on set filming of VFX sequences: retrieve filming information, oversee the necessary on-set installations for the filming of sequences
  • Excellent understanding of composition, light and color with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines often under pressure
  • Excellent communication, organization skills and budget management skills
  • Knowledge of various 2D/3D software (Nuke, Maya etc.)
  • Communicate with external production companies.
  • Recruit and manage teams as necessary

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 5 years experience as a VFX supervisor in live action episodic television and/or feature films
  • Extensive knowledge of VFX production
  • Thorough understanding of film production and on-set experience
  • Experience with Shotgun
  • Expert knowledge of Nuke required as well as integration; After Effects, Fusion all a big plus
  • A strong technical understanding of CG pipelines and the ability to specify efficient workflows and identify additional tools required
  • Previous film industry experience with the ability to ensure artists work is of a high standard both artistically and technically
  • Previous experience of training, mentoring and recruiting CG and Comp Artists is an asset
  • Proven team leader with strong motivational qualities.
