Senior Pipeline Developer:

The role requires a strong balance of programming knowledge and development management.

Working closely with our team, you are responsible for creating pipeline software tools, supporting production in making technical decisions, and general technical support throughout the production process.

Effective communication and planning is key for this role

General duties and responsibilities:

Research, develop and maintain existing and new pipeline tools
Work with people at all levels (owners, supervisors, and artists). Ensuring that all parties are kept up-to-date with current projects and issues
Integrating tools with existing in-house tools and code base
Customizing existing scripted tools to suit the needs of the studio, projects, and artists
Creating documentation for tools and integrations
Work with artists, leads, and supervisors to implement solutions for production workflows
Troubleshoot complex production problems
Work with the production team to ensure that client delivery specifications are met
May train, mentor, or supervise the work of entry/mid level programmers and artist TDs
Research and recommend improvements to workflows to improve productivity or communication
Keep up to speed on current technology trends and tools both hardware and software
Provide regular updates on pipeline development status

What you bring:

Expert experience in VFX or animation
Degree or relevant post-secondary education required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of up-to-date production technology/IT methods, practices, and trends
Excellent problem solving skills
Ability to juggle multiple projects and work under strict deadlines
Proficient with one or more VFX software – Nuke, Maya, Clarisse, Houdini, Substance, Mari
Experience with integrating VFX pipeline through Shotgun
Experience with Deadline render submission across DCC (nuke, maya, clarisse, houdini)
Experience in developing a VFX asset management system (publishing & assembly)
Expert knowledge in Python

This is a full time staff position. Salary commensurate with experience.
