Overview

As the Storyboard Supervisor you will provide inspiring creative leadership, comedic and artistic direction throughout the show. In this role, the Storyboard Supervisor will be responsible for communicating ideas effectively, coaching and mentoring a small team of storyboard artists, working in collaboration with the Supervising Director to ensure that the crew is working collaboratively to achieve the goals and quality benchmarks of the project.

What you will be doing:

  • Oversee and supervise the team of storyboard artists and revisionists during the entire episode and/or production from script to animatic, providing ideas, making decisions and offering viable solutions to creative issues.
  • Establishing and defining process and workflow for the storyboard team.
  • Exercise leadership, collaborative and communication skills to ensure that departmental tasks are assigned, understood and completed as per instructed.
  • Ability to understand, execute, and maintain a set series style.
  • Understanding the needs and strengths of the storyboard team.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and encouraging growth and development to a small team of storyboard artists and revisionists.
  • Participate in all storyboard handouts with the storyboard team and clearly communicate expectations.
  • Maintain the quality and continuity of drawings.
  • Anticipating, communicating, and troubleshooting any creative or technical issues.
  • Take part in storyboard reviews and provide clear notes on revisions.
  • Approving the final storyboard panels while keeping show continuity in mind.
  • Cultivate a strong sense of team and positive morale.
  • Collaborating with the Supervising Director and Client to provide direction notes and oversee revisions on boards and animatics.
  • Consulting with the Supervising Director as to the feasibility of comedy in the script and suggesting creative solutions that will maintain the vision of the series.
  • Work with the production team to ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Provide status updates, troubleshoot, and review potential changes on a regular basis with production staff and the Supervising Director.
  • Meet with Production staff to discuss artist performance of the crew.
  • Providing constructive feedback and guidance to the team.
