We’ve got a new project coming up, very cartoony and squash& stretch, based on a very popular property that’s recently had a feature film out as well. We’re looking for a Lead Storyboard Artist to join our strong team and oversee this exciting new project! This role will be out of your West 3rd location in Vancouver. Position Overview

The Lead Storyboard artist is responsible for overseeing the show storyboard team as well as creating digital Storyboards as required, which meet the aesthetic, creative, and technical quality stands of the production and in accordance with the production deadlines.

Deliverables and Responsibilities:

  • Exercise creative, inventive and compelling storytelling in accordance with the pre-established creative style and technical guidelines of the project
  • Supervise and mentor artists through the thumbnail process as well as assigning specific pages to artists and overseeing team through other aspects
  • Go over questions with counterparts on client-side and forward designs and notes to team.
    Review sequences as they are completed. Problem solve and reassign appropriately.
  • Communicate with Unit Director on progress/story intentions.
  • Submit final review/submission to Unit Director in time for internal review before pitch due date
  • Facilitate pitch meetings, taking notes of all calls made, making suggestions and accepting suggestions from Client.
  • Attend weekly meetings with Unit Director and team for communication as needed
  • Assign and monitor notes in tracker while mentoring artists through cleanse process
  • Review and adhere to the guidelines and instructions given by the Unit Director and those set forth from the episodes which have already been completed
  • Be available for an In-House hand-out meeting with the Director and ensure that you have ample instruction and materials to begin your assignment
  • Storyboard the script In house as-written insuring that alternate suggestions have received prior approval from the Director before implementing any alternate ideas while also implementing director notes and revisions
  • Meet In-house project deadlines and milestones, including weekly quotas, as set by Director and the production department
  • Demonstrate good written and verbal communication, and exhibits a collaborative, supportive approach to working with other team members
  • Actively participates in team / department meetings

Probationary Period – 3 months:

Performance review to take place three months from the commencement date. This review will be a discussion to ensure that responsibilities and duties have been met as per this job description.
