Annual Salary: Approx $40k-$50k, depending on experience

Start Date: Immediate

Atmosphere Visual Effects is seeking a Junior IT Technician to join our technology team in Vancouver, BC.

The Job Responsibilities Will Include:

●        Running and checking backups

●        Monitoring the status of servers, storage and the network infrastructure

●        Setting up workstations, including operating system installation and workstation rebuilds

●        Investigating hardware problems. For example: failing workstations or driver problems

●        Providing basic IT support to employees. For example: fixing network or printer problems

 

Required Skills:

●        Knowledge of Windows system administration (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008)

●        Familiarity with the Windows command line/batch scripts

●        Able to lift up to 50lbs

●        Helpful demeanor, good communication and a team player (this is a support role)

●        Able to work overtime/weekends occasionally, sometimes on short notice in emergencies

●        A desire to work your way up in Systems Administration

●        Must be a BC resident, with Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency

 

Bonus Points:

●        Knowledge of Python and an interest in helping us with our internal Python scripts is a big plus

●        Experience building workstations and/or servers

●        Knowledge of computer hardware (CPUs, memory, PSUs, GPUs, motherboards etc.)

●        Computer Science (or similar) education

●        Linux and Mac OS X experience is a plus

●        Any VFX experience is a plus
