Overview

Animal Logic is recognised as one of the world’s leading independent creative digital studios, producing award winning design, visual effects and animation for over 25 years. We are currently in production on The LEGO® Movie Sequel (2019)!

Are you an experienced Java Developer interested in joining us in our Vancouver facility?! The successful candidate will join our high-calibre team and help drive the evolution of our mission-critical systems. This challenging position requires you to solve complex problems with creative solutions, while contributing to the overall delivery of an animated feature film!

 

What you’ll get to do:

  • Work as part of an international team that forms part of a larger group focused on satisfying the bespoke software requirements and support requests of the creative workflows
  • Interact regularly with technical crew and leads in the production departments
  • Work on the design, development and maintenance of our proprietary compute farm management software, which manages 10s of thousands of cores

 

What you bring:

  • 6+ years Java development experience
  • Experience building scalable, distributed systems
  • Demonstrated expertise in algorithm design and problem solving
  • Experience working with internal or external clients
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

 

Experience with the following would be highly regarded:

  • Spring, JMS, Web Services
  • Multi-site architectures
  • AKKA and the Actor Model
  • Agile methodologies
  • Continuous integration/deployment
