Overview
Animal Logic is looking for a Technical Animator for our first Animated Feature in Vancouver!
The Technical Animator’s main responsibilities are to support the Animators, trouble shoot issues and help with the shot animator’s workflow.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for varying levels of pipeline troubleshooting, user support, crowd system development, crowd shot assembly, technical direction and animation tools as well as front-end development (within Animation)
- Testing and validating new releases of pipeline tools within XSI and in the Farm environment (for ARBS)
- Track and Report all issues to Performance TD’s
- Assisting animators with any issues and directing the issues through to the right channels
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve
- Ability to work within a strong team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
This role would suit someone who enjoys problem solving and technical issues as this is not a creative role.
Requirements:
- An ability to work in a collaborative environment, take direction and contribute to ensure that the highest creative standards are achieved
- Experience supporting animators
- Experience with XSI
- Experience using Linux in production
- Programming experience in python a bonus
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow through on solutions
- 1 year minimum working in a similar role in Games, Animated Series, VFX Film or Feature Animation
