Overview
Animal Logic – the company that brought you Peter Rabbit – is looking for a Junior Animator. You will be responsible for producing high quality performance animation that is in line with the Director’s creative vision to level expectations, by creating a believable performance and expressions of 3D CG characters and objects.
Responsibilities Include:
- Bring characters to life
- Animate using effective storytelling skills, through knowledge of camera angles and framing shots
- Produce high quality animation in line with the Directors creative vision and brief received from lead and supervisor to level expectation
- Understand the visual requirements for the task given and in consultation with your Lead and/or Supervisor, produce work in a timely manner to brief
- Adhere to deadlines and communicate with your lead and Production as required work progress and any problems
- Help provide suggestions to creative briefs through existing tools & processes
- Developing understanding of the department pipeline including all assets and tools, and their purpose
- Become proficient with the departments propriety tools
Requirements:
- A recognized post-secondary qualification in animation, film or a related field preferably, and 1 + years’ animation experience working in feature films; VFX or animation, TV or games
- Proficiency demonstrated through past project work and/or reel/portfolio
- A developing knowledge of animation techniques and 3d software packages, particularly Maya and XSI
- A demonstrated passion and ability in 3d animation
- Enthusiasm, positivity, initiative and talent coupled with an understanding for taking direction and performing tasks to the individual’s best abilities
- Have an “eye” for nuances of a believable action
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- A flexible approach while maintaining consistently high standards
- Ability to work to deadlines within a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Willing to learn, and contribute to the success of the team and project
- Have the ability to listen and be open to all feedback given
- Open to new workflows and tool sets
Salary range CAD$55k – 75k and extended medical benefits. In addition, we include a comprehensive benefits package with paid vacation time, extended medical and dental, AD&D, LTD and Life insurance. We have animation studios in Sydney, Australia and Vancouver, Canada and a development office in Los Angeles. Our Vancouver studio is within the creative precinct of Yaletown and is currently working on DC Super Pets, set for release in 2022.
